Prices and Funding
How much does an appointment cost?
The first visit is an extended consult, to ensure we have all the relevant information to inform your treatment plan. As of September 2020:
- Initial appointment (60-75mins) = $169
- Review appointments (30-45mins) = $99
Can I claim a rebate with Medicare?
If you have a current Medicare referral from your GP (also known as a "Care Plan"), we can process your rebate for you. This typically takes 1-2 business days to go into your nominated account. As of July 2020, the physiotherapy rebate is $54.60 for each visit, up to a maximum of five visits per year/referral (i.e. these visits are not "free" - our normal fees apply). Please ensure we have received your referral ahead of your visit, or bring along the relevant paperwork.
Can I claim a rebate with my private health insurance?
If you have private health insurance that includes physiotherapy services, you can claim a rebate manually after your appointment (i.e. we do not process this for you, but will provide an emailed invoice for you to claim). The rebate amount will depend entirely on your private health insurance provider and your individual policy/level of cover; you will need to contact your insurer to find out your rebate value for "physiotherapy" or "pelvic floor physiotherapy". Please note you cannot claim both a Medicare and private health insurance rebate for the same visit.
How do I pay for my appointment?
We have EFTPOS processing via Square. We prefer not to receive cash or cheque payments.

What days are your clinics?
Appointments are available all day Mon/Wed/Fri at Yeppoon Health & Fitness Centre, and Tues/Thurs from 3pm at the CQUniversity Health Clinic (this is subject to some variability). Telehealth appointments (via Zoom or telephone) are also available.

How long does it take to get an appointment?
Most clients receive an appointment within 2 weeks if flexible with scheduling. We invite you to contact us to join our waiting list should an appointment not be readily available.
How many sessions will I need?
This is highly variable depending on your specific condition/needs. Most clients will require 4-5 sessions over a period of 3-6 months to manage issues such as incontinence, overactive bladder, or prolapse. More complex issues (e.g. pelvic pain, pessary management, post-surgical) may require more sessions.
How do I make an appointment?
The easiest way for you (and us!) is to book online - simply click the link and instantly choose your preferred appointment location and time! However, you can also contact us via the "Get in Touch" button, call/text 0427 826 466, email firstname.lastname@example.org or on social media - we endeavour to respond within 24hrs.
What to expect at your visit
What will happen in my first appointment?
Our first session involves information-gathering and getting to know you and your concerns. You'll be asked questions about your main issues and specific goals. We'll also take a detailed history including medical information, bladder & bowel habits, sexual function, exercise & activity, stress, sleep, and diet. This complete health picture helps us decide together on our best course of action. If time allows and if clinically appropriate, we may discuss a physical examination including general movement screening +/- a pelvic floor examination, which can be carried out with non-invasive ultrasound scanning or with an internal muscle assessment. At no time are you required to do anything you are not comfortable with - we are a collaborative team, with you and your needs at the centre!
How long will my first appointment be?
Your first visit is typically 60-75 mins; subsequent visits are 30-45 mins.
What do I need to wear and bring?
Wear whatever feels comfortable for you, but be prepared to move! (i.e. jeans may not be the best option). Please bring any relevant medical reports/referral information.
If I have my period and was expecting an internal examination, do I need to reschedule?
No - if required, we can use alternative assessment and treatment options. We can reschedule your visit if you are more comfortable with that, however please be mindful that postponing your appointments can slow down your overall treatment progress.
Can I bring my baby or child to the appointment?
Absolutely. Babies are welcome, but please bring older children something to keep them entertained so that you can have as productive a session as possible. Our Yeppoon clinic also has child-minding available between certain hours if required - please contact us to discuss.
Can I bring my partner/support person along?
Yes, a support person is welcome.
